Today was Rylee’s last dance class for the summer. We are enrolling her in a different class at a different studio this fall. She has a show tomorrow night at the park that she is so excited for. We’ve been practicing, and it’s going to be the cutest thing ever. I just don’t know what to do with her sometimes. She is my wild child for sure. To kick off my Tuesday Tangents…I have the many faces/moods of Rylee.
Friday when I took my bump picture for the week she wanted her turn. Whenever it’s time for a mini photo shoot I always hear, “Mommy take a pitchur (so you get the full effect of Rylee talking). We used a prop at first. She wasn’t quite sure what to think of the ball.
Then we ditched the ball and started striking that pose. This is her “where’s a my ….” Or we were working on fish face. I can’t remember.
Then the grand finale was “cheeeeeeeeeese”. Of course she yelled it so loud that the entire neighborhood heard it. I’m pretty sure she gets that from me. When I was younger I never knew how to use an inside voice. To this day I still get the look from my mom and my closest friends to be quiet.
This next picture isn’t really a face but just her new favorite thing to do. Climbing. She climbs on everything. I am constantly tripping over the stool because she climbed up somewhere new. Girlfriend needs a jungle gym. Do they go on sale at the end of the season?! Send me your recommendations on ones that won’t break the bank. We went bowling Saturday night and Rylee had so much fun. Plus whoever she helped bowl got a good score. She was a little good luck charm!
Last night I wasn’t quite quick enough with the camera but Rylee was doing legit on her toes push ups. Then she backed herself over to the wall and put one foot on the wall. I was pretty impressed. All my home workouts are paying off! Then when she got tired she did her own version of legs up the wall.
Then this last one is what Rylee does when the end of Sing comes on. Sing is her new favorite movie. The ending when everyone performs their number is the highlight of her life. Two other things about this photo; one, she never wore that many headbands when she was little. Now that they are in her sister’s room she is all about it. Two, I still have two baskets and so many tiny pieces of baby clothes to put away. My house smells so wonderful (thank you Dreft) but there is so. much. to. put. away.
I mentioned yesterday that MMR helped me meal plan this week. Last night’s dinner was so good. Just the confidence booster I needed. We love stuffed peppers. I think it’s a great way to get a good amount of veggies, proteins. Most recipes call for rice, and rice is just not MMR’s favorite food. So he asked me to try doing something different. Well we came up with the best creation ever.
Lasagna Stuffed Bell Peppers:
- Elbow pasta – or any type of pasta for that matter
- Garlic seasoning
- Mozzarella cheese
- Ground turkey
- Spaghetti sauce
- Green bell peppers
- Brown ground turkey in fry pan. Before turkey is all the way cooked add seasonings: salt, pepper, garlic and oregano. Once turkey is cooked all the way through drain fat and set aside.
2. Cut and hollow out the peppers.
3. Add spaghetti sauce as the bottom layer.**
4. Then sprinkle a thin layer of mozzarella cheese.
5. Add your ground turkey.
6. Scoop your elbow noodles.
7. Add more sauce and more cheese. In my opinion the more cheese the better.
8. Bake for 20 minutes at 425 degrees. The cheese was browned a little bit for us so use less time if you want just melted cheese.
**One thing I would do differently is to not do sauce first. The peppers were a little soggy towards the bottom. I would change it up and add meat, cheese, pasta, then sauce. We’ll try that next time and see if it helps.
Today has been turning into quite the productive day. I woke up this morning on fire, workout done before we left the house for dance. Took Rylee to her last dance class of the summer. Then we ran to Hobby Lobby to get supplies to make Baby Girl’s dream catcher. I can’t wait to see how it turns out! Plus I got shelves for both girls’ rooms. I think we have everything we need supply wise to pull together Rylee’s room and Baby Girls room. I’m hoping to have Rylee’s room ready to reveal in the next couple of weeks.
The way our house is set up, we have the kids rooms and their bathroom on one side of the house and then our room is seperated by the living room and kitchen. I’ve been eyeing on ways to decorate the living room and spoiler alert…it has to do with fall and fall colors. Hopefully I don’t get too wrapped up in the season and have to totally re-do it for Christmas. But once the kids rooms are done then I will be moving on to the living room. Slowly but surely the house will be all put together!
