Life Updates & A Flex Friday Workout

Long time no talk! I’ve missed you. I think this is the longest time I’ve gone without blogging since March. I’ve been pretty quiet all across the board, I guess it comes with the moving territory. We don’t have internet until Thursday and so I try not to use all my data in one night. Plus when I’ve been at the house I’ve just been trying to unpack things and sleep.

So in a nutshell…we wake up, eat breakfast and get back to unpacking things. Right now Frosted Flakes are our jam. Rylee is getting better and better with the spoon. We only had two spills today instead of the usual seven.

Then when we are done eating we pack up and head back to my parents house to get more things. I thought this morning I only had one load of laundry to finish but my Mom burst my bubble and found two more boxes of clothes. KILL me. That is the love/hate relationship I have with being pregnant and clothes. I tend to pack all the things away that I know I won’t be wearing for at least a year. BUT then I forget all about them and I’m back to having a million things to go through a year later.

On top of these myseterious clothes boxes we also have a few of our every day things left.It’s crazy how much stuff accumulates in just a couple of months. You know what is also crazy?? The fact that we had been living here since FEBRUARY.

My goal each day is to bring five to eight boxes in a day and get them completely unpacked and sorted. So far we have sorted into clothes to sell, yard sale stuff, and just throw it away. Hi my name is Ally and I am a pack rat. I swear for every three boxes I unpack I get one box full of stuff to sell or throw away. Hopefully at this rate my garage will be empty by next week. then I can bring on all the decorating and designing.

So now that we are all caught up with life…I have a workout I meant to share on Wendesday but clearly that didn’t happen. I did this workout on Wednesday and it was really fun to change things up again. Don’t get me wrong, I love my quick 30 minute workouts that are already planned for me but I love creating my own just as much. It makes the after burn that much more rewarding.

Name Game Workout:

We have NINE different exercises that are randomly placed with a letter. Spell your name and that’s your workout. I went with my full name Allyson so that I could get more of a workout. You can customize this as much as you want! If you don’t want to spell your name but want to spell a word that’s fine too. Do a whole sentence if you are feeling ambitious ;).

So my workout ended up being…

  1. 50 Jumping Jacks
  2. 30 Squats
  3. 30 Squats (FUN right in a row said no one ever)
  4. 40 Arm circles
  5. 10 Burpees
  6. 1 Minute Wall Sit
  7. 40 Jumping Jacks

Some side notes…I strategically made this so when I spelled my first name I didn’t have too many exercises to modify. During pregnancy you should stay away from regular planks. The burpees were a struggle for me. I added the chair modification because to get down on the ground and back up again was so so hard. I also noticed my form starting to slip due to the plank aspect of exercise.

You’ll notice on my push ups my form is not where it should be. I’ve graduated to more of an incline either on the counter or wall. When doing push ups you want to make sure your body makes a straight line from the top of your head down to your heels. Another great modification for push ups are on your knees. So basically you just lower your knees down making sure you still have a straight line from the top of your head to your tail bone.

PPS: I had to finish this post at Starbucks. I’m not complaining BUT I went to Starbucks this morning already because I was too lazy to buy sugar and make coffee at home. I have honey, which I thought about using that…has anyone tried honey and milk in their coffee??

Okay double PPS: Guess who comes to town tonight?! My brother and sister in law. Guess what else?! We have a weekend jam packed of baby wonderfulness. AND MMR and I are going on a date on Saturday.
