Gender Reveal…It’s A Girl

How is everyone’s weekend so far? I am really tired over here. It’s called the ‘momover’, the hangover for moms. I didn’t drink obviously but I still feel as tired as if I had partied all night. It’s so worth it though and I had so much fun last night.

We invited our closest friends and family over for our BabyQ and MMR shot some balloons on a canvas filled with pink paint because…WE’RE HAVING A GIRL! I am so glad that is out in the open now. The fact that I kept this a secret is a miracle. I’m going to let the pictures do most of the talking today.

I had my father-in-law help me hang the decor and it turned out amazing. My mother-in-law made most of the food and that turned out amazing (I didn’t get too many pics of the food). Then my mom made coleslaw (the best in the world) and the delicious cupcakes.

In order to make sure votes weren’t swayed I wanted to make sure that I kept everything even. Everyone needed to be on their toes.

My dress is from Costco. I can’t find them there anymore which is a bummer because I wanted more colors. My Nike’s are the comfiest shoes ever. I ordered them in blue because I clearly had baby colors on the brain. They were on sale at the time so I got two for the price of one. The blue lace cover up is Lularoe and I got it from a consultant who was going out of business. Double score.

We had dinner and caught up with everyone. Before we shot the balloons. I wanted to give everyone time to hang out plus we went LIVE on Facebook to share with family and friends far away. Going live on Facebook was so much fun. Thanks again to everyone that came and hung out both on the internet and in person!

The voting board had it split evenly half of us voted boy and half voted girl. I only have a brother so I just assumed that would happen to me. MMR has two brothers and a sister so I also assumed the male chromosome was strong. I know that our family is not complete so we will see what happens in the future.

We are beyond excited for our newest addition and Rylee is going to be the best big sister ever.

Two more things before I go…One, thanks to everyone for taking pictures and sending them to me so I can post today. It’s so hard to do everything at once and I appreciate the support my friends and family give me. Second, one of the wives tales is the ring test. You take a piece of your hair and string your wedding ring from it and whichever way it swings is the gender. Pendulum swinging equals a boy and circle swinging means a girl. Both times the way the ring has swing has predicted our gender.

We are off to a hockey game tonight. It’s one of their playoff games so it’s suppose to be a good one. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday and thanks again for stopping by/hanging out at my parties/following along our journey called life!
